What we can learn about mind, spirit, and body from catching a cold

It’s been rainy and chilly in Tokyo. Actually, my son caught a cold last week, and although his fever went down in about two days, he is still suffering from a cough and runny nose. When I told him, “It’s just a runny nose, so let’s wait and see,” my wife said, “It’s not getting better,” and took him to the hospital. My wife and I have different opinions on this (laugh).

By the way, why do we say “catch a cold” when we mean “getting sick”? As our predecessors often said, there is ancient wisdom hidden in this phrase. “Kakaru” in Japanese (get sick) means “something undesirable or misfortune will befall you,” while “hiku” in Japanese (pull) means “to accept into one’s body, to have it affect oneself.” People in the past thought that the cause of “colds” was “evil spirits that affect the body,” and “catching a cold” was understood to mean that one’s health deteriorated as a result of unconsciously taking in something bad into the body.

This phrase truly captures the nature of “Ki.” When we continue to carry daily stress and negative emotions, our hearts and minds become depressed and gloomy. This then attracts negative Ki or “evil spirits,” which resonates with us, and as our Ki falls, physical discomfort appears.

Furthermore, the environment surrounding us today is filled with much more negative energy than in the past. The prevalence of negative information and digital fatigue from games and smartphones are some of the reasons for this. Even if we are unconsciously strongly influenced by this negative energy, it is difficult for us to realize this.

However, we can use Shinkiko to transform this “attractive force” into a positive force. This energy from the universe enhances the Ki within the body and also transforms the negative Ki around us into a positive force. By using the Ki Device “Hi Genki” and various Ki items in your daily life, you can constantly take in positive Ki into your body and keep it from attracting negative Ki. Furthermore, by transforming negative Ki into positive, you become more susceptible to receiving support from positive Ki, and can increase your ability to attract good fortune.

As the phrase “catching a cold” suggests, our minds and consciousness have the power to attract both good and bad things. Use the energy of Shinkiko to your advantage and turn this power of attraction into a positive one. We hope that many people will experience the energy of Shinkiko. Starting in July, we will be holding a one-day seminar at our centers in Japan, condensing the Shinkiko Retreat seminar into one day. By raising your Ki, you will be able to attract the “coincidences” you desire.

True Spirit and the Power to survive in the “World of Chance”

Last night, we invited full-time instructor Osamu Tatsumura to join us on YouTube Live to celebrate the 400th Shinkiko Retreat seminar. In the 35 years since this seminar began in 1990, we have seen many events, such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the eruption of Mount Aso, but we have been able to continue the course every month without incident, and I cannot help but feel that we have been strongly supported by positive “Ki.”

Incidentally, human abilities can be categorized into “cognitive abilities” and “non-cognitive abilities.” While cognitive abilities are intellectual abilities that can be measured through tests, such as knowledge and logical thinking, non-cognitive abilities refer to “mental strength” and “social strength” that cannot be measured numerically, such as “perseverance,” “self-esteem,” “cooperation,” “self-control,” and “creativity.” These can be said to be the “power to live” and “humanity” that are essential for enriching one’s life.

Our lives do not always go according to plan. There is a “world of coincidences” that includes unexpected encounters, sudden troubles, unexpected good fortune and bad luck. In order to thrive in this world of coincidences, not only cognitive abilities but also non-cognitive abilities are extremely important.

I believe that this world of coincidences is deeply connected to the world of “Ki,” which science has yet to fully grasp. We all live within the invisible energy of Ki, and the quality of the “coincidences” that occur around us changes greatly depending on whether the Ki we are strongly influenced by is “positive” or “negative.” If you are easily supported by positive Ki, you will be blessed with good connections and opportunities, but if you are strongly influenced by negative Ki, trouble and misfortune will pile up.

So, while improving your non-cognitive abilities is certainly very important in enriching your life, it is also important to improve your “Ki” and always be in a state where you are supported by positive Ki. This is because no matter how high your non-cognitive abilities are, if you are constantly influenced by negative Ki, it will be difficult for you to demonstrate your true potential.

So what should we do? Positive and negative Ki that match the wavelength of the Ki emanating from our hearts gather around us, so the first thing we need to do is to make our own state of mind as positive as possible. Furthermore, the energy of Shinkiko from the universe penetrates our souls and increases the energy of our Ki. This makes it easier to match our wavelength with positive Ki.

Combining the efforts to improve non-cognitive abilities and the practice of enhancing your Ki with Shinkiko will enable you to lead the “world of chance” that is life in a more advantageous and happy direction.

Removing the rust from your mind

Recently, when we go out for a walk, my 18-month-old son happily waves to anyone he passes. What’s surprising is that he doesn’t hesitate to wave to even people who look a little “tough,” and most people smile and wave back. Thanks to this, I’ve had more opportunities to exchange words with people I’d never even said hello to before. Men in particular tend to be difficult to talk to, but my son’s innocence seems to open the door to my heart, and it makes me keenly aware of how many walls we adults build in our mind.

It is said that “old age creeps up on you,” but what if, not only does your body weaken, but your past experiences cause you to lose your mental flexibility and openness to accept new things… that is something you want to avoid. To use an analogy, just as rust accumulates in a worn-out water pipe and the flow of water becomes slower, “rust” accumulates on the surface of your heart, preventing your natural radiance and smooth connections with others.

What are some signs of “aging of the heart”? Resistance to new things, stubbornness in not listening to other people’s opinions, difficulty expressing gratitude or affection, increased critical behavior, and fewer smiles…? These are thought to be influenced by fear and pride from past experiences, as well as the “negative energy” that has accumulated in the heart. Since similar energy attracts similar things, negative energy that remains unpurified can cause similar events to repeat, weaken relationships, and lead to isolation.

Therefore, it is necessary to be aware of small signs of “mental aging” and take conscious measures to deal with them. For example, try to use words of gratitude, such as saying “thank you” out loud to family and those around you. When washing your face, try practicing smiling by looking at yourself in the mirror. Think of it as “stretching your mind,” listen to the people around you, and try new things, even if they are small…etc.

In addition, the energy of Shinkiko deeply relaxes the mind and body, and purifies the negative energy that is the root of negative emotions that have built up deep within the heart. Therefore, while using Shinkiko, take the first step, even if it is something small. This will brighten your heart and give you the power to spread warm light to those around you.

Shinkiko Retreat seminar held every month is a place to efficiently improve the three aspects of Ki, body, and mind.  Shinkiko Retreat seminar will be suspended for July and August, and a one-day seminar will be held at centers around the country and online, where you can experience the essence of Shinkiko Retreat seminar. Why not transform the negative Ki that is affecting you unknowingly into light and remove the rust from your mind?

Everything is a series of meaningful events

There are good things in our daily lives, but sometimes there are events that make us want to sigh.  Some of these are things that we do repeatedly.  Making the same mistakes at work, getting caught up in similar interpersonal troubles, or for some reason always injuring or hurting the same parts of our body.

In fact, these things can be deeply connected to invisible “negative energy.”

The “negative energy” that exists within and around us attracts negative events of a similar nature.

The important thing is to see these things as “meaningful” and become aware of the pattern.

In this article, we will introduce a work that uses the energy of Shinkiko to look back on the past, become aware of the presence of “negative energy” that may be the cause, and prevent the same things from happening again.

(1) Wear or keep nearby Shinkiko products or Ki applicators to help you relax.

(2) Try writing down specific, seemingly negative things that make you feel like you’re always worrying about the same things, or that you’re following the same pattern again and again.

For example: human relationships (e.g. clashing opinions, feeling bad about something that’s been said to you); work (making mistakes at important times, not being able to achieve your goals); health (frequently injuring or hurting the same place, feeling unwell at certain times of the year); emotions (getting irritated over small things, feeling aversion to certain people or words)

(3) Think back as far as you can to when this pattern first occurred. (Was it recently? Maybe it happened when you were a child?)

(4) How did you feel the first time you experienced this pattern? What was the situation? Who was involved? Try to remember as clearly as possible the scene, emotions, and physical sensations at the time.

(5) Have you developed any preconceptions about yourself or those around you because of your past experiences? For example, “No one understands me,” “It’s useless to try,” etc. Then, try to recognize the feelings of sadness, anger, fear, helplessness, etc. that you felt at that time. This may be the influence of “negative energy” that is working against you.

When you become aware of negative energy, it becomes easier for the energy of Shinkiko to reach it, and it will gradually disappear.

It may also be a good idea to try placing Shinkiko products or applicators on the part of your body where you feel negative energy.  Also, one of your ancestors may have been affected by similar negative energy.  If you can make an effort not to be defeated by negative energy, the light will reach not only you, but also those around you.
